Life is too short not to live up to your potentials. Every man is a perfect creation, as pointed out by the holy writs. The question then remains why many-a-people do not explore their full potentials but that is a topic for another day.

Read: Being The Success You Desire

In this post, I will highlight some proven steps to being the best you can ever be.

1. Know Your Person.
That statement might seem unnecessary. That however remains the bedrock to any achievement you want to make in life. Know who you are, what your passion(s) is/are, your preferences, your qualities/ attributes... In short, know everything you stand for/ represent. Though it isn't necessary, you might wish to write this down.

2. What Do You Want To Be?
Before being best at being something, you must have being that thing, so to speak. In step 1, knowing what things you want would guide you to know what you want to be; if you never did.

3. Make a workable plan.
It takes no dime from me to share a plan here. It would not rather be the best thing to do as my preferences would differ from yours. In other words, you need to bear in mind a destination and the path to get there.

4. Be Determined.
The road to success is rightly said to be uneasy. There is always a price to pay. Being determined would keep you going even when all odds are against you.

5. God-factor.
God-factor remains supreme over anything else you can think of. I hope I'm not being biased to atheists.
Make sure you are on a good relationship with the God you worship and you can be sure he'll help you.

Life After School

We had  a téte-a-téte with a student of One of the foremost tertiary institutions in Nigeria and this was how the discussion went:

pferanmi: Hello, can we meet you?
Student: I'm Tosin by name.
pferanmi: A nice name that is. Going by the name, you must be a Yoruba.
Tosin: Yes, that's right. Born and bred in Yoruba land.
pferanmi: Is that to mean, either or both of your parents?
Tosin: Both of them are, actually.
pferanmi: Can you tell us a little about your background, the academic to be specific?
Tosin: Like I said, I'm a Yoruba boy; from the southwestern part of Nigeria; precisely Osun State.
I attended Good Tidings Nur/Primary School & then proceeded to FCHS for my secondary school education. Finally, Tosin found himself 'here'. (Smiles)
pferanmi: For the benefit of our dear readers, can you tell us where 'here' is?
Tosin: Sure. The Premier University; University of Ibadan.
pferanmi: It's been nice speaking with you. Can you tell us what level you're in and your course of study?
Tosin: I'm a bloody fresher. (Laughs) Pardon me. I meant I'm in hundred (100) level. My course of study is Pharmacy.
pferanmi: What's your perspective about Pharmacy as a discipline?
Tosin: Pharmacy is a health science that deals with drug synthesis or manufacture, distribution to end-to-end consumers and public awareness on the correct usage of drugs.
pferanmi: We're aware that UI resumed second semester about three weeks ago. We also want to believe you must have seen some, if not all of your first semester results.
Tosin: (smiles) Well, yeah!
pferanmi: Tell us about them. What was your cgpa like?
Tosin: I'm on a "2-1."
pferanmi: Second class upper you meant?
Tosin: Yeah.
pferanmi: We'd try to keep in touch with you. However, in about four years' thereabout, you'd be graduating from Pharmacy school. What's life after school going to be like?
Tosin: I'm going to go into community pharmacy and business as well.
pferanmi: Thanks for your time, Tosin.
Tosin: My pleasure.
