Seasons

Yeah! I saw and heard it again. This time around, it was more realistic than ever.
I have heard this from many men of God. However, it's never lasted long. It rang in my ears for few days and then departed. I thought they never understood what I was passing through. I felt that was why it was so easy for them to say such comforting words. But apart from hearing from these men of God, I have heard it from some of my friends as well.
Though they might have said it out of ignorance or because they were rooted in the waters where their branches are blossoming. Maybe they don't know what's up.
I thought these ones might be joking. Oh! Did they really understand? Awn! No, 'they didn't,' I concluded in my mind. I gave it a second thought.
How I wish these people understood what I mean or what I was going through. It was not about being inferior but the fact that I was doing my best but it seemed I was not doing anything at all. Oh! how painful that could be.
'Yeah! we started this thing together na, Bisi?,' I asked one of them one fateful day, and she was short of words because she didn't seem to grasp what was up with me.
You know what was more painful? Whenever I complained to people, they gave me these words I have heard over and over and this made me sick.
I became tired of these words that I stopped asking people for advice. I knew it will still be  'there is time and season for everything. Wait for your time' that they've always said.
These are words I got when I tried to complain what I tagged abnormalities in my life. Of course, I never it was normal.
What I just needed was to wait. The ab in 'abnormal' stands for "about" so abnormal means "about to be normal". Whoa! I never grasped that until I saw it real today.
As I passed by, I saw a tree I have been seeing since January in a different structure and appearance today.
The tree was dry while others were as fresh as they were from January till this early November.
Early November, the tree started bringing out flowers bit by bit and you need to see it today. The tree is more beautiful and attractive.
The sight of it is alluring and the fragrance that comes out of it is irresistible. It is not only beautiful in itself, it has spread it beauty to its surroundings and the whole place is lightened up with its brightness.
Yeah! Reality done on me when I saw this tree. It came to my subconsciousness what people have been saying about time and season. Truly, there is time and season for everything that exists.
Each one of us has his or her time. Don't ever compare yourself to others and never use another person's time to check yours. Never dance to another's drums because the two of you were not created to take same dancing steps. Wait for your rightful time so that your steps will go with the beat of your drums. There is time and there is season for each man. Walk and work with your time set.

Poem: It Wasn't Smooth

The deepest sorrow she has known.
The all round shame she has seen.
The shame was for the fame_
For it's never remained the same.
She was once despised by men_
But cherished by the Creator of men.
The battle seemed long and burdensome.
So heavy was the weight of fear_
She feared for the fears she's never seen.
Her body shook like a leaf on water,
She cried out her heart day and night;
Calling out to the Invisible Maker_
Who is visible to those who draw nigh to Him.
"Show me the way" was her heart felt cry.
The Maker seemed silence she thought.
Her tears were her water,
Her pains were her daily bread;
Light at the end of the tunnel!
No! She said to herself one fateful night.
There must be light at the end of the tunnel.
With determination and endurance, she walked out of the miry clay.
She failed many times but refused to give up.
Distracted and wounded severally, she never shifted her gaze.
Now! She has a song to sing:
A melody in her heart;
A story to tell and a biography that will be written by her generations.

We wish you the best of this yuletide.

This Yuletide

It's the third day after Christmas today. Christmas for me was fun. I had a work-free day and trust me, it meant a lot to me.
This blog post is basically about what things I've seen predominates this yuletide. The date might be the same, year in, year out. But the events are definitely different.
This time last year, we witnessed an increase in the prices of things than they were before yuletide. This isn't the case this year. In fact, I was surprised when I went to Bodija market yesterday and found out that a lot of things are now cheaper.
This yuletide period is one of the most calm Season's I've ever witnessed. Perhaps it isn't so in other areas of the world.
With everyone looking up to 2018 with more expectations than the previous years, 2018 has no choice but to be the biggest and best.
Seasons' greetings.
